So, for those of you that are not keeping up on the CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football), or Soccer, here's what's going on. Six teams are in the Hexagonal of the World Cup South Africa 2010. The top three teams with the most points goes on to play in the World Cup and the 4th team with the most points plays the 5th place team of the CONMEBOL (The South American Football Confederation). Here are the 6 teams and their position in the current hexagonal of the CONCACAF:

1. United States 7 points
2. Costa Rica 6 points
3. Honduras 4 points
4. Mexico 3 point
5. El Salvador 2 points
6. Trinidad & Tobago 2 points

Mexico has been playing horrible, and many would agree. They fired Sven-Gorran Erickson and hired Javier Aguirre as their coach who led them into the 2002 World Cup, when again Mexico had some problems. He is trying to restructure the Mexican team and these are the players he will be bringing to play against El Salvador:

Goalies:
1.- Guillermo Ochoa (América)
2.- José de Jesús Corona (Tecos)
3.- Oscar Pérez (Tigres)

Defense
4.- Ricardo Osorio (Stuttgart)
5.- Aarón Galindo (Chivas)
6.- Francisco Rodríguez (PSV Eindhoven)
7.- Héctor Moreno (AZ Alkmaar)
8.- Edgar Dueñas (Toluca)
9.- Carlos Salcido (PSV Eindhoven)
10.- Oscar Rojas (América)

Mid-fielders
11.- Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Aul)
12.- Pável Pardo (América)
13.- Israel Castro (Pumas)
14.- Giovanni Dos Santos (Tottenham)
15.- Fernando Arce (Santos)
16.- Andrés Guardado (Deportivo la Coruña)

Forwards
17.- Carlos Vela (Arsenal)
18.- Alberto Medina (Chivas)
19.- Cuauhtémoc Blanco (Chicago Fire)
20.- Nery Castillo (Shakhtar)
21.- Miguel Sabah (Morelia)
22.- Guillermo Franco (Villareal)
23.- José María Cárdenas (Pachuca)
24.- Carlos Esquivel (Toluca)

What do you guys think about the list and Mexico's future?

I can honestly say that I think Aguirre wll be the best thing to happen to Mexico in a while.

I hope this lineup will bring Mexico lots of glory. I know that these players have lots of heart and play well with each other.

Haha, I think the most notable player in this list is Cuauhtemoc Blanco because he "retired" last year. As old as Blanco is, I think that at the end of a game, he can bring something to the team. Even when he's sitting on the bench, he brings the Morale of the Mexican team up and I'm very happy that he got called. Then, the most notable MISSING player is of course Rafa Marquez. He was hurt in the UEFA Champions League against Chelsea and is out for a while. I hope that Mexico is able to go back to its old dominant self.

I agree with you there. Cuauhtemoc IS the most noticable player on the team right now. He does bring up the spirit in the team up when things are down. He just proves that you're never to old to keep doing what you love. Even if you don't play the most, or score the most. Just being there and cheering for your team is good enough.

Yes it is. I mean, a lot of people don't like him because honestly, although he is my favorite player, he is a cry baby haha. But he just brings this attitude to his teams that make his teammates play better. Look at the Chicago Fire. Before Blanco's arrival, they weren't doing too well. Once he started playing, Chicago made a good run.

That is very true. Chicago Fire was good but wasn't as good as it is now with Blanco there. haha

There are some surprises there, and some that I thought would be there aren't. I think something that surprised me more than Blanco is Oscar Perez. He was once the goalie for Mexico, but that was quite some time ago.

Another surprise to me was NOT taking Oswaldo Sanchez. I thought he was going to be taken for sure because of all his experience with the national team.

Ever since Oswaldo left Chivas and even before that, he started sucking. When he played for the Mexican team, he was good but not as good as when he played with Chivas.

I don't think it really has much to do with that, just that fact that he's getting older now. Still I would have picked him over Oscar Perez.
